Fieldwalking
(November 12, 2011)The local Fieldwalkers have been busy walking several fields looking for historical finds - pot sherds, fossils, metal, etc. This work has a small 'window of opportunity' - when the fields have been cleared, and before the new seeds are covering the soil.
A 'tree fern' fossil from the Carboniferous Age is our oldest and largest find to date.
We were a little late 'walking' this field, but the enthusiam was electric!
